We are a large consortium of over 3,500 emergency management consultants working together to provide a unique outsourcing resource. All Hands combines the talents of leading emergency, crisis, and business continuity management experts from North America and around the globe. The inception of the All Hands concept traces back to 1978, a milestone year marked by the visionary initiative of Rick LaValla, a distinguished State of Washington emergency management official. This visionary endeavor took shape through the establishment of the Emergency Response Institute (ERI International), an organization that quickly rose to prominence for its unparalleled expertise in Emergency Management, Disaster Preparedness, Disaster Response and Recovery, Search and Rescue, Survival Education, and Emergency Preparedness. ERI International, with its roots firmly embedded in the year of its founding, 1978, has evolved into a global entity, playing a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of emergency management. Now an integral part of the expansive All Hands Consulting network, ERI continues to be a beacon of excellence in the field. Renowned for its prolific publications spanning disaster planning, emergency management, search and rescue, and survival education, ERI has been instrumental in advancing innovative planning and training programs across the United States and European communities. ERI's impact reverberates through its significant contributions to the development and dissemination of cutting-edge strategies in community and industrial emergency management, disaster response planning, and search and rescue. With a rich background encompassing 28 years of dedicated service in Maryland's local government, Steve Davis embarked on an entrepreneurial journey, giving rise to DavisLogic in 1995. This venture, initially a modest consultancy, swiftly established itself as a specialized authority in business continuity, emergency management, and command center operations under Mr. Davis's astute leadership. Pioneering the integration of traditional emergency management principles into continuity of operations planning and the application of cutting-edge technology in the field, Mr. Davis emerged as a visionary leader in the industry. His prolific contributions extend beyond consultancy, with a portfolio boasting over 20 published articles and a remarkable record of more than 200 presentations on relevant topics.
The dawn of the new millennium saw a momentous collaboration between Mr. LaValla and Mr. Davis, culminating in the creation of All Hands Consulting in the early 2000s.
